Private Instruction

Scheduling a Lesson
Lessons should be booked in advance, especially if you require a particular instructor; however we will be glad to assist you without an appointment on a space available basis. When scheduling a lesson, please leave a telephone number so that we may contact you in the event your lesson needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather or staff emergency. If you do not have your own clubs, please let us know at this time so we can be prepared when you arrive.

What Should You Bring?
Bring with you all of your golf clubs. If you do not have clubs, let us know when you schedule your lessons and we will be glad to provide them for you. We recommend that you have a set of clubs that fit your swing and we believe the correct clubs can make a dramatic difference in your game. We suggest you wear golf shoes and if you use a glove, we recommend you use one during your lesson.

Your First Lesson
When you arrive, your instructor will take a few minutes to assess the current state of your game by asking you some questions about your strengths, weaknesses, and goals, along with answering any questions you might have. After your initial discussion, he will evaluate your swing while you are hitting balls. He will then explain what is happening to create the current results, and describe and demonstrate what you will need to do in order to correct these faults. Our instructors stress the fundamentals of the swing and strongly suggest video lesson with the aide of our Computer Coach software. Video will enable you to see your swing and help interpret the changes that you are making.

How Long Should Your Lesson Be?
The first lesson usually lasts about an hour due to your initial assessment and interview. Unless you are participating in a clinic or on course playing lesson, we recommend most lessons last no more than an hour. This is plenty of time to videotape your swing, analyze the results, and practice some drills to promote change. Taking a series of lessons over a short period of time, such as one per week, provides excellent progress and helps you maintain the "feel" of the swing that you have been taught.

Your Expectations
Expectations are always high after a lesson. There is excitement and an urge to go out and try the new swing. However, you must realize that there is usually regression before progression, and it takes time and repetition for your muscles to accept these new changes. The old swing will not disappear in a half-hour, especially when it took years to develop.

Practice and Drills
We will expect you to practice and work on the "swing keys" you are learning. If you do not, you will likely be wasting your money and our time. During your lesson you will be shown precise drills designed to strengthen your fundamentals and improve your swing. By practicing these drills you will achieve the fastest path to meaningful change.

Playing After a Lesson
If you must play following a lesson we recommend that you don't keep score or play under pressure situations until you have perfected your new technique. Remember that under pressure you will always revert to your old swing, especially if you don't see immediate results from your new swing thoughts.

Do I really need a Lesson?
If you want to improve your game then lessons are the best way to do so. You will not only improve your swing, but you will gain an understanding of the game, the golf swing, and how to enjoy playing golf for years to come
